Introduction of Dalchini (Twak)

Dalchini, commonly known as cinnamon, is the dried bark of a small tree, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum. It is grown mainly in the western or southern parts of India. It is one of the oldest and most important spices. This spice is available in rolled-stick and powder form. Its leaves are commonly called "Tejpatra."

In Ayurveda, Dalchini is called Tvak and is used for various ailments like flu, indigestion, edema, cough, etc. As per Ayurveda, its taste is pungent, sweet, and hot. It is light, rough, penetrating, and often recommended for people with the Kapha Vata constitution.
