Introduction of Khadir (Khair)

Khadir, also known as Kattha, is a deciduous tree commonly growing throughout the Sub-Himalayan belt and north-eastern states of India. Khadir or Khair (Khair) wood is mostly used for puja etc. This is one of the Navagraha timbers used in the practice of Yajna-Havan etc. Generally, the wood and bark of the Khadir tree are mainly used for medicinal purposes. As per Ayurveda, Khadir is good medicine for leprosy, eczema, etc. Khair (Khadir) is pungent and astringent in taste. Its effect is cold. It has the properties to arouse hunger and digest food easily. It gives relief from stomachache, cures bleeding, Diarrhoea, Osteoarthritis, Piles, Swelling, etc.
