Health benefits of Laldudhi (Nagarjuni)
Laldudhi has lots of health benefits due to its medicinal properties. The whole plant is useful and used both externally as well as internally. It has been used in Ayurveda for the vitiation of the aggravated Pitta Dosha. This herb is used externally for Swelling, warts, ulcers, and bleeding wounds as it has both antifungal as well as antibacterial properties. You can also apply it to cracked lips, pimples, and acne. Internally it can be used in gonorrhea, bloody urine, loose stools, and jaundice. It is also effective for eliminating the intestinal worms, eliminating the symptoms of dysentery or diarrhea, soothing the gastrointestinal tract, restoring bowel movements, and reducing the discomfort or pain due to the altered bowel movements. The anti-inflammatory property of this herb makes it suitable for curing some respiratory-related symptoms such as sore throat, breathing difficulty, bronchial irritation, and chronic coughing. It also cures Dengue Fever.
The antibacterial, as well as antiviral properties of this herb, are effective in treating UTIs and venereal disorders. It is also used as a sex stimulant to increase libido and boost fertility. For males, it can help in preventing premature ejaculation, and in females, it stimulates the production of breast milk. But it should not be given to pregnant women as it causes miscarriage. The diuretic property of Laldudhi increases the urine output in the body and reduces the swelling by flushing out the excess water content in the body.
