Apamarga Kshara-method Of Preparation And Treatment

Apamarga Kshara is an alkaline Ayurvedic medicine, in powder form. It is prepared from an herb called Apamarga. (Prickly Chaff-flower) It has sharp, hot, slimy, smooth pain-relieving properties. It is used for the treatment of cervical erosion.

Method of Preparation

• A dried Panchang of Apamarga was taken.
• It burnt up till the formation of ash.
• 4 Times of water of the weight of ash added into it.
• The solution was kept in an earthen pot overnight.
• The next day morning the solution was rubbed with hands & filtered.
• Kept it on the fire for evaporation of total water. At the base, a white substance remains, it was a Kshara.
