Chemotherapy leads to a sudden decrease in estrogen levels leads to vaginal atrophy.
- Uncontrolled diabetes
People with diabetes have more chances to get affected with vaginal atrophy. Certain diabetic medications, tissue glycosylation, etc are the reasons behind vaginal dryness.
- Pelvic radiation therapy
The effects of pelvic radiation therapy lead to vaginal dryness. The therapy causes narrowing of the vagina.
- Removal of the ovary
Women who have done their ovary removal surgery have chances to get affected with vaginal atrophy. Because the ovary produces hormones like estrogen and progesterone.
