Ayurveda recommends not to have certain food items during the Navarathri diet as they may cause an accumulation of toxins in the body. Such kinds of food items are:

  • Garlic.
  • Onions.
  • Meat.
  • Fish.
  • Lentils.
  • Asafoetida.
  • Garam masala.
  • Coffee.
  • Tea.
  • Alcohol.
  • Processed foods.

Ayurveda does not recommend non-vegetarian and tamasic foods during Navarathri days. Avoidance of these foods can reduce the intake and presence of toxins, saturated fats, and other harmful substances in the body.
