Panchakarma is a detoxification therapy in Ayurveda. Panchakarma can eliminate the deep-rooted imbalances in our bodies. Mainly there are five purification procedures included in Panchakarma therapy. Among the five procedures, Abhyanga, Swedana, Basti and Virechana are considered very effective in controlling Juvenile diabetes.

  • Abhyanga

Abhyanga consists of whole-body massage with herbal oils. Abhyanga improves blood circulation. It also ensures the relaxation of muscles that automatically help in reducing the stress level of the body. Stress is a major factor in the increase of glucose levels in the blood. Abhyanga helps in maintaining a balanced blood glucose level.

  • Swedana

Swedana therapy consists of inducing sweat with the help of steam. Medicated herbal decoctions are used in steaming. Swedana helps to open the pores, flushes, and cleanses the system through the skin and the toxins are excreted through sweat.

  • Basti

Basti karma aims to eliminate body toxins through the rectum. The treatment involves introducing medicinal substances, such as medicated oil and decoctions in a liquid medium into the anal region of the patient by using a rubber catheter under the supervision of an expert Ayurvedic doctor.

  • Virechana

Virechana is a medicated purgation therapy that removes toxins from the body that accumulated in the liver and gallbladder. Here toxins from the intestines are eliminated by administering therapeutic purgation or a therapeutic laxative.

Virechana, Basti, Abhyanga, and Swedana are the Panchakarma therapies that play an important role in controlling Juvenile diabetes symptoms.
