Introduction of Dhataki

Dhataki, commonly known as Fire flame bush is very well known for its attractive flowers. The name itself means that the herb has attractive flowers and it is also used as medicine. According to Ayurveda, Dhataki is very beneficial for female disorders such as menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding) and leucorrhea (white discharge from the vagina) due to its Kashaya (astringent) property.

Health benefits of Dhataki

Dhataki or Dhawai is also known as Bahupuspika in Ayurveda. It is the flower of Dhataki that has significant importance in the traditional Indian medicine.Dhataki is a much branched, semi deciduous; undershrub or shrub. It has lots of health benefits. Dhataki powder also balances Kapha and is very beneficial for managing asthma as it promotes the removal of excess mucus from the respiratory tract which stops breathing.

Dhataki is beneficial for skin problems such as acne, pimples etc. and might help in wound healing due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Applying a paste of Dhataki powder along with honey or water on the skin helps in reducing swelling and steps up wound healing due to its healing and cold properties. This paste can also be applied on the skin to get relief from sun burns, acne and pimples. It is full of nutrients such as tannins, polyphenols, and flavonoids and thus is used in pharmaceutical products.
