Health benefits of Kaner (Karvir)
Kaner is used in traditional medicine to treat hemorrhoids, ulcers, leprosy, and as an abortifacient. Oleander (Nerium oleander) is a common ornamental evergreen shrub. This plant is toxic, and a single leaf may kill an adult. A decoction of the leaves has been applied externally in the treatment of scabies and to reduce swellings. The bark is bitter and used as a cathartic, febrifuge, and intermittent fever. Oil prepared from the root bark is used in treating leprosy and skin diseases of a scaly nature. Seeds are used as a purgative in dropsy and rheumatism.
Nerium's leaves and blossoms are cardiotonic, diaphoretic, and diuretic, as well as anticancer and antibacterial properties. The flowers, leaves, leaf juice or latex, bark, and roots of the plant have anticancer characteristics and are used to treat corns, warts, malignant ulcers, carcinoma, ulcerating or hard tumors.
Oleander contains chemicals called glycosides, which can affect the heart. These chemicals can slow the heart rate down.
