Introduction of Kela (Musa paradisiaca)
Musa paradisiaca, also called banana, belongs to the family of Musaceae. It is one of the most popular fruits in the world and it is derived from two wild species i.e. Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana. This fruit is a rich source of carbohydrates and potassium while they are low in protein content. In bananas, peels are used in the form of fertilizer. In addition, various parts of banana products are used for various purposes e.g. ripe fruit showed enormous production of alcohol and used as medicinal properties for the treatment of gastric ulcers.

Food combining cautions with banana as indicated in Charaka Samhita are do not combine bananas and milk, do not combine banana and yogurt, and do not take liquids within an hour of eating a banana. As per Ayurveda, bananas can lead to mucus production, and It's not a good idea to consume this fruit late at night because it can irritate your throat.
