Ayurveda prescribes the following diet that is very beneficial for a person suffering from jaundice.

  • The patient should be put on a fruit juice fast for a week.
  • Consume the juice of lemon, pear, grapes beet, carrot, and sugarcane.
  • For at least two weeks, all fats and oils must be avoided. They should be consumed in minimum amounts.
  • Foods that ferment in the lower intestines, such as pulses, legumes, and so on, should be avoided.
  • Drink a lot of water.
  • The juice of bitter luffa (karvi torai) should be placed on the palm and drawn up through the nostrils as a remedy for jaundice.
  • Green leaves of radish juice induce a healthy appetite and proper evacuation of bowels.
  • Amla, Beetroot, Lemon, Bottle gourd, Bitter gourd, and Aloe vera are good for liver health and should be used daily.
  • Avoid Alcohol, raw milk, uncooked food, poor hygiene, fast food, contaminated water, and self-medication.
