Giardiasis

Giardiasis is a common illness caused by a microscopic parasite called Giardia lamblia. It is considered as an infection in your small intestine that may result in diarrhea and stomach cramps. The Giardia parasite can spread through contaminated water, food, and surfaces and from contact with infected people. If you have giardiasis, you may get sick several days after being infected.

In Ayurveda, Giardiasis is known as Krimi Roga. According to Ayurveda, having low Agni or weak digestion leads to the growth of parasites. Parasites are more likely to affect Vata and Kapha predominant people because of their reduced digestive capacity. Those who have suppressed immune systems, high stress, or digestive disorders are the chance to develop symptoms upon infection.
