According to Ayurveda, the increase of Vata and Kapha in the respiratory tract and the digestive system are responsible for Allergic Bronchitis. Panchakarma therapies are very effective in purifying the body toxins and removing doshas which clears up any obstruction in the respiratory channels. Some of the therapies are as follow:

Snehana: Snehana, or Oleation Therapy, is one of the most important therapies that involve the application of medicated oils, ghee, and herbs to the body internally and externally for three to seven days. The procedure is that medicated oil mixed with mild salt is gently massaged on the chest and back to lose the Kapha in the chest.

Swedana: It is also called steam therapy. We can do this at home by steaming with a facial steamer or using a towel over a pot of hot water or steaming in a hot shower. Add a few herbs to the water and allow the body to stay in the steam for about 5-10 minutes. If we are doing it regularly, that helps the body's natural detoxing system. By this process, the Kapha gets dissolved in the body and as a result, the movement of Vata is restored to its normal condition.

Vamana:Vamana means therapeutic vomiting which is a medicated emesis. This treatment is done for the aggravated Kapha dosha, which dislodges the toxins mainly from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. To eliminate the liquefy Kapha, Vamana should be given with the proper method.

Nasya: Nasya means putting nasal drops into both nostrils. Pouring the medicated oil in both the nostrils is highly effective for the treatment of allergic bronchitis. Nasya Therapy can help moisturize our nasal passage and also relieve nasal congestion.

Dhumrapana: Dhumrapana is a herbal smoke inhalation procedure that can cure respiratory disorders like allergic bronchitis. The method is that the patient must sit straight, with their mouth open, and inhale the smoke through each nostril. While inhaling through one nostril, the other must be closed. The inhalation should be done thrice, letting it in and out together is one round.
